When my eyes are in this condition it is very difficult to read because i must slow my rate of comprehension while my brain makes out words behind the flashings.
Looks like ceiling fan in peripheral vision.
This seems silly to bring up but otoh who knows maybe others have experienced this.
Mainly artificial light would seem to shimmer a bit.
There are times when i see swirling lights like a brightly lit ceiling fan mostly in my peripheral vision.
I only had the wavy water like vision in part of my vision in my left eye it was as if the center of my vision was fine and that was circled by the wavy vision i could see color and light but it was like i was under water looking up and someone was making the water ripple but only an outer circle.
Starting 4 years ago when i took a very bad buck from a 3yo horse i was training i have experienced what seems like pinwheels ceiling fans kaleidoscope colors in my vision.
It was wierd then faded.
Like if someome lit somepaper on fire and it was bowing in the wind.
I had laser for a retinal hole almost 3 weeks ago and i have a black blind spot 4 black dots but i don t see them all of the time.
I have noticed that about one or two times per week during the last 4 5 months that early in the mornings i get a mild flickering of my vision.
When i un focus my eyes when looking at lights i can see it as well.
I ll explain a little more just in case if you have an idea what s going on and need more information.
I also have static look on the periphery of my vision on the entire right half of my left eye toward my nose.
What do you mean by ceiling fan effect.
The thing is that sometimes my vision seems to vibrate a little mostly in my peripheral vision it seems to be happening mainly when coming from a dark area and entering a bright one but this isn t always the case.
Has never lasted more that 30 minutes to and hour and once gone.
Sometimes it s just a blotch.
Sometimes its peripheral sometimes the effect is in a shape like a circle directly in my line of sight.
I occasionally have this flickering in my peripheral vision that is just like the shadow that a ceiling fan with a light on it throws on the ceiling.
The first time it happened i went to the er but they said i just had a headache i did have one the worst i had ever had they.
I have 20 20 vision and can even see in the pitch black darkness.
Then when i look in the way of the shimmering it usually stops.
Mostly when going to a dark room from light or vice versa.
It is something like viewing things through a rotating fan blade which would be revolving about 150 rpm.
